Hi this blog thing is new to me and Im somewhat an aging technophobe! well here goes, Jamie took time out to teach me so I hope this is how it should be.
This is work we did with Kim our 3D & printmaking tutor making a 3Dimage out of different thicknesses of wire using the spotwelder. The bending of the wire was quite hard.
Again the theme was anguish and psychosis as we had visited the Blackburn museum , I found myself drawn to the Hetty Sorrell painting and prior to this We had visited the welcome meeting in the university advertising many public services, MIND was there promoting better mental health and peoples opinions of the tabu subject.
The ART OF PSYCHOSIS that Imade in 3D was an idea that came to me after a lecture about free art around the North West by Richard Cross. The painting of the Bates Motel by from the film Psycho inspired me to write the words art of psychosis in the style of the Alfred Hitchcock movies. It was a first attempt but when Kim advised us to capture shadow by photographing the work against a wall it gained that sixties eiry look that I wanted.
